Bishnu C Parida

Bishnu C Parida is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), which is part of the Department of Rural Development in the Jharkhand state government. He came to this role in June 2013 and now leads more than 700 staff and 3,000 Community Cadres in undertaking the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), which is the Govt. of India’s flagship poverty reduction program. Bishnu’s career in development and social welfare projects spans more than 20 years (in the organizations i.e. JSLPS, SSUPSW, UNDP, PRADAN and RSC) and he has worked in projects for both national and international agencies. He had initiated and established a successful Women development and Rural livelihood project from 2000 to 2006 in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha when he was working with PRADAN (national level development NGO) which is now benefiting 15,000 families.
