Sashwati Banerjee
Sashwati Banerjee is managing director of Sesame Workshop India. She serves as an advisor and key voice for Sesame Workshop internationally, overseeing its operations in the South Asia region, and is responsible for Galli Galli Sim Sim, the Indian version of Sesame Street. As founding managing director of Sesame Workshop India, Banerjee is responsible for Galli Galli Sim Sim’s content, which helps prepare children for school and life. Under her leadership, the organization has developed and implemented groundbreaking programs to reach children all over India. Sashwati’s prior work spanned across various organizations in the private sector managing programs, communications, public relations and marketing. She holds a B.A. in English from Delhi University and a diploma in advertising, communications and journalism.
