Tammy Mehdi

External Affairs Officer

Tammy Mehdi manages CGAP’s digital communications, focusing on strategic outreach and engagement through CGAP’s social and digital platforms. She also provides communications support for the Partnerships Unit and the Inclusive Carbon Markets Project.

Tammy has nearly a decade of experience developing and executing global communications strategies at the World Bank. Before joining CGAP in 2022, she led communications for other global funds –the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) and the Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA)– focusing on issues related to governance and food security. Prior to that, she was a Research Assistant and Adjunct Instructor at American University, focusing on strategic communication and culture. Her previous experience also includes training roles at Edelman, the U.S. Department of State, and the White House.

She holds Master’s degrees in International Relations and Public Relations, as well as a Security Studies certificate, as part of the Public Diplomacy program at Syracuse University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the American University of Sharjah, UAE.
