In this webinar series, hosted by IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative, businesses and policymakers shared insights and recommendations on how they’ve managed to build partnerships and pilot digital technology solutions that boost bottom lines while helping smallholder farmers access information, inputs, and affordable financing.  Webinars were moderated by Iris van der Velden, IDH Director of Learning and Innovation, and Emilio Hernandez-Hernandez, Senior Financial Sector Specialist at CGAP, the World Bank Group.

This webinar covered how companies are building cross-industry partnerships that serve smallholders and boost their bottom line and featured panelists Poorva Pandya (CEO of ETG Farmers Foundation, Laura Mackenzie (Senior Vice President Global Prepaid & Financial Inclusion at Mastercard), and Daniele Tricarico (Director of Insights at GSMA).  

 


Webinar 2: Policymaker Recommendations

This webinar covered government actions to facilitate cross-industry collaboration for innovative agricultural financing solutions and featured speakers Hedwig Siewertsen (Head Inclusive Finance at Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), Juan Buchenau (Senior Financial Sector Specialist at World Bank), and Prasun Kumar Das (Secretary General at Asia Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (APRACA)).

This webinar series is based on the recently released action report, Sowing the Seeds of Innovation for Smallholder Finance by IDH, CGAP and the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA), H.M. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, with input from the UNSGSA’s Agriculture Finance Working Group.
