Financial Sector Specialist

Jescinta Izevbigie is a Financial Sector Specialist at CGAP focused on developing a new, country-based, multi-sectoral approach to advancing women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment in key markets. 

Prior, she served as a Gender and Social Impact Specialist for the World Bank in Jakarta, Indonesia leading knowledge products and technical support related to gender and social inclusion mainstreaming, women’s economic inclusion and women’s entrepreneurship in East Asia. Her ten years of experience across the public, private, and development sectors, including institutions like the United Nations Foundation, USAID, and Unilever, have refined her strategic and analytical lens, as well as deepened her knowledge of gender equality, social impact, economic inclusion, and programmatic operations across emerging markets in the Caribbean, sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia. 

She has a Bachelor of Science in Culture and Politics, with an African Studies certificate from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and a Master of Science in Gender, Development, and Globalization from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
